About Dr. David Blum

Dr. Blum grew up and went to grade school in Baltimore City. He received his B.S. in Biology from the University of Maryland, College Park and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee.

 

He also studied pediatrics and behavioral vision at the SUNY College of Optometry in New York City. After several internship rotations, including an internship at the NAS Hospital in Corpus Christie, Texas, he returned to the Baltimore area. He has been in private practice in the Rosedale area since 1983.

Dr. Blum provides general adult and pediatric vision care along with medical treatment and co-management of glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic eye disease and refractive surgery. He also specializes in hard to fit soft, gas permeable and scleral contact lenses. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, golf, traveling and spending time with family. He is also a diehard Orioles, Ravens and Terps fan.
